It certainly is an interesting visual of cooperating with God's will.
But the question of cooperating with God's will is more than saying yes to a voice we may hear in the desert, deep in the mountains or by some 'sign' that so many people seem to see. Since God is relational and we are certainly not on this orb alone, we are called to witness, live, love and cooperate with others. That is how God's plan for all us can be achieved. Surely whatever God wishes to accomplish it will be with and through others, not just ourselves. God's will involves relationships, interacting with others and an even more intense cooperation with God than we might have imagined.
Furthermore, are we willing to cooperate blindly? I have found numerous times that in simply living and loving and participating in life, we are taking part in a plan that God has not really unfolded to us as individuals. God's will does not necessitate that we are in on it all. Would you be willing to go a journey with others even when you are not certain of the outcome or purpose? When some asks you to go one mile with them, go two? Sometimes the best journeys are not one's we planned. The real question is, are we willing to let God be our God? Can we loose the controls from our lives to let someone else lead?
Our in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And do not bring us to the time of trial,
but rescue us from the evil one.
Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And do not bring us to the time of trial,
but rescue us from the evil one.
